MARS User´s Guide

In the following the most important information is shown, that can be read out of the SBS Manager

and the both batteries.

SBS Manager: SM-Bus address 14h (look also datasheet of LTC1760)

• Which battery is present, is charged/discharged, sends a calibrate request

• If AC is present

• If power is good

• A calibration is in process

Smart Batteries: SM-Bus address 16h (look also datasheet of the used Smart Battery)

• Average Time to Empty

• Remaining Capacity Alarm

• Average Time to Full

• Remaining Time Alarm

• Charging Current

• Temperature

• Charging Voltage

• Voltage

• Battery Status (fully charged, over charged,

over temperature alarm)

• Current

• Relative State of Charge

• Cycle count

• Absolute State of Charge

• Design Capacity

• Remaining Capacity

• Design Voltage

• Full Charge Capacity

• Run Time to Empty

It is possible to get only information of one battery at one time. After this the SM-Bus must be

connected to the other battery. This should be done by sending the hexadecimal word 1000h

Note:

(battery 1) or 2000h (battery 2) at command Code 01h to address 14h via the SM-Bus. (default:

battery 1)
